Amber House would like to recruit a suitably qualified person to fill the post below: Accountant
. Reporting Relationship:
Reports to: The Managing Director
Purpose of the Job:
The purpose of this position is to give professional financial leadership to the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Keep proper books of accounts in line with the Company's financial policies, procedures and guidelines.
Make the necessary bookkeeping entries in the books of accounts
Prepare bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
Prepare monthly trial balances
Review payments and payment vouchers before cheques are prepared.
Monitor implementation of Amber House internal controls to ensure adequate risk management.
Deal with the tax authorities and other regulatory bodies on matters of statutory compliance including advice to management on tax related issues.
Respond to all audit queries concerning accounts.
Ensuring that all financial transactions are processed with appropriate documentation and approvals.
Review accountabilities for operational advances and recommend action to Management.
Prepare quarterly and final financial statements
Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience:
B. Com or BBA (Accounting) with parts of a professional body such as ACCA or CPA as an added advantage.
At least 4 years experience in the accounting field plus good Knowledge of some accounting packages such as Quick Books.
Other Skills:
Good interpersonal skills
Highly motivated and capable of working under minimum supervision
A good team player
Age: Preferably below 35 years
Terms and Conditions:
The successful applicant will be offered a three- year renewable contract on competitive market rates, upon successful completion of a 6 months
probationary period. Mode of Application:
