Finance Manager Agribusiness Iniative Trust - Dealfish Jobs in Kampala , Uganda

The Agribusiness Initiative Trust is now seeking for an exceptional and dynamic professional with a proven track record in providing oversight of the finance and accounting function as a FINANCE MANAGER (FM). This role will involve budgeting, ensuring capture and organization of finance data, financial reporting, analysis and overall financial management of the Trust. In this role,
the FM will have several staff reporting to him I her including a Finance Officer. The Finance Manager will report to the Managing
Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Development of the Trust overall budget and monitoring its implementation including the preparation of budget versus
actual reports;
Ensuring that the proper recording of all the financial transactions in an IT based accounting software and preparation of bank reconciliations;
Safe guard the integrity of accounting record:. and financial transactions;
Preparation of accurate and timely periodic Management and Financial Accounts (Statement of Comprehensive income,
Balance Sheet, Cash flow statements) for the various stakeholders of the Trust;
Conducting financial analysis and preparation of reports advising on financial aspects of the Trust;
Regularly review and update of the Finance and Accounting Manual to ensure that it complies with best practice and is in line with international finance reporting standards;
Participate in the update of other Trust manuals
Prepare timely annual financial statements for external audit;
Management and updating of the Trust asset resister:
Forecast Trust liquidity and advise on potential investment options (treasury bills, treasury bonds and fixed deposits);
Ensure timely collection of debts, cash and cash flow management;
Supervise the Finance Officer in his or her responsibility of rising and posting of financial transactions;
Be a co-signatory, maintain and supervise all operations of the bank accounts held by the Trust for operation and invest-
Maintain records of all lines of credit and investment accounts for the Trust;
Prepare, process and submit documents for tax and other statutory remittances in timely manner;
Ensure a smooth and efficient procurement and inventory management systems that ensure the efficient and economic
use of the Trust's resources;
Oversee the timely payment of remuneration and statutory dues for the staff;
Promote effective risk management for the key risks under his/her control in accordance with the Trust Risk Management
framework;
Participate in Trust strategic planning, implementation and evaluation processes.
Qualification and Experience
Graduate Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance or other relevant discipline
A post graduate degree in the relevant field Professional qualification in accounting such as ACCA, CIMA, CA, CFA, or CPA;
Minimum of seven (7) years progressive management experience, most recently as a head or deputy head of a finance
and accounting function in a financial institution, private sector firm or a manager in an audit / finance advisory firm or
similar relevant enterprise;
