JOB PROFILE
To explore the various commercial opportunities that might exist within. FARM-Africa projects in the Regional and Ethiopia programmes.
To help develop such opportunities through
researching market opportunities, value addition opportunities and market access (both local and Export)
To develop and maintain relationships with commercial partners who will provide pro bono services to FARM-Africa such as the development
Of business plans. .
To research, approach and develop relationships with commercial partners who will provide support to communities to develop business opportunities and access local and international markets.
Develop business strategy for linking smallholder farmers, herders and forest based communities with markets that can contribute towards improving their livelihoods.
PERSON PROFILE
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject e.g. agribusiness, agricultural economics.
At least 3 years hands-on experience of working in international companies & agencies.
Strong background in business administration and management.
Knowledge of the agribusiness sector and policy regulation framework in East Africa.
Must have a network of associates that can provide information on the business climate and markets In East Africa.
To guide the development, implementation and; monitoring of agribusiness support services under the Maendeleo Agricultural Enterprise Fund (MAEF)
programme for the benefit of grantee organizations and farmer institutions.
To initiate development plans for enterprise development and link MAEF to key stakeholders for the promotion of agri-business' activities.
To elaborate approaches for commodity value chains development and support the operationalization of identified value chains in
MAEF projects in close liaison with all partners.

Working closely with MAEF Project Coordinators, To take the lead in guiding the provision of agri-business services at district an-d regional
levels for the creation of value chains, market linkages and promotion of commercial farming and '5 agro-processing.
PERSON PROFILE
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject e.g. agri-business, agricultural economics.
At least 5 years professional experience of working with agri-business, marketing and farmer organizations. In East Africa.
