A Micro finance Affiliate of World Vision Uganda
The Micro Enterprise Development Network (MED-Net), is a micro finance affiliate of World Vision Uganda providing financial services to active poor clients in over 20 districts of Uganda.
To ensure compliance of standards, procedures and reporting to various stakeholders, MED-Net seeks to employ an Internal Auditor.
Key responsibilities:
Leading audit assignments and supervising and reviewing work of less experienced members of the team;
Assisting Audit Manager in the preparation of audit plans of assigned areas in line with the audit manual and the annual audit plan;
Examining and appraising the Company's internal controls;
Verifying the accuracy and completeness of statutory reports in line with the company and statutory requirements
Evaluating the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of the institution's operations; Evaluating adherence to relevant laws,
regulations, policies and procedures;
Preparing reports of audit findings in line with
the audit guidelines and audit report standards;
Performing audit assignments in assigned areas in line with the annual audit plan.
Knowledge, Abilities and Technical skills
BCOM /BBA (Accounting) qualifications or equivalent from recognized University;
Must have completed his ACCA examinations
and obtained membership, Membership of CISA and/or CIA is an added advantage;
Postgraduate specialized training in internal audit is an added advantage;
A minimum of 5 years experience in banking, micro credit and or financial services audits;
Audit experience/exposure to systems audits will be an added advantage;
Experience in the use of integrated loan & accounting packages will be an added advantage;
Computer literate and knowledgeable in the use of standard office packages with solid working knowledge of excel and WORD;
Must be willing to travel within Uganda and
Rwanda for extended periods of time after probation period of 3 months;
Must practice accountability and integrity and have a strong work ethics;
Be of a determined personality with initiative and perseverance and have excellent interpersonal skills.
