Position Summary:
Purpose of the job
Add value to Synfuels operations by safely and cost effectively leading the Mechanical Phenosolvan & CTF area in TPS.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications and expertise required (Must)
B. Eng. (Mechanical) or equivalent
Government Certificate of Competence – FACTORIES (GCC)
MBA/MBL or B.Com (Wish)
At least 5 years in a mechanical maintenance environment in a management position
General
Create and Manage a safe and healthy environment
Talent and diversity management of team members
Function in a Hub & spoke organization with regard to Asset management and engineering
Effective utilization of all resources
Co-ordination of team activities
Perform senior standby duties
Liaise with production and support services
Specific experience required
Mechanical maintenance in petro-chemical industry (5 years)
Managerial and leadership experience (5 years)
Required outputs: Functional
Enhance continuous improvement and growth
Creation of a motivational work environment
Develop and maintain a mechanical maintenance strategy based on Asset Management principles
Implementation of work procedures and initiatives as applicable
Ensure plant Integrity, stability and safety on short, medium and long term
Ensure short and long term plant availability to produce required quantities
Sound mechanical engineering and maintenance application in petro chemical plant
Technical and business evaluation of maintenance opportunities
Manage the planning, governance and execution of shutdowns
Create a culture that will enable world class performance through continuous growth and improvement
Effective budget and cost control.
